I’ve been asked to design a centipede yin yang, but I’m not sure what to do with the legs that intersect. Any advice would be appreciated!

This is by no means the final design (belongs to vexels, link in comments). However, I’d like to do my right arm for the four elements. The style I would like to do it in is Japanese Traditional, but I’m concerned that it would be “cultural appropriation” since I’m not of Japanese descent.
